Joseph Voisin was my great-grandfather. His wife was Mary Ann (Yuncker) Voisin.

Joseph's date of birth as listed here is probably incorrect. Most sources agree it was actually January 10, 1858. Under higher magnification, it appears the year 1850 was written over another number. Perhaps this is a clerical transcription error.

The age at death indicated (65 years, 4 months and 22 days) results in a birth date of January 11, 1851, which is also probably incorrect. So the birth date listed here is suspect at the very least.

We learn that Joseph was probably born in Canada and that his father was probably named Joseph as well. The name of his mother is difficult to read, but it indicates "Not Known." Compare the "t" in Not and the "n" in Known with those same letters in Pleasant at the bottom of the page, where Ed Voisin has given his address as "Mt. Pleasant Mich."

Joseph died of prostate cancer. Carcinoma c.... The second word beginning with "c" has faded.
