Ten years after their graduation from Sacred Heart Academy, alumni gathered at the Hotel Chieftan for dinner recently to talk of old times, and discovered many changes had tken place. Of the 28 graduates, 21 were able to attend with their families or a guest.

</B>John E. “Jack” Voisin, 69, a life-long resident of Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, July 5, 1994, at Tendercare Nursing Home in Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral services are schedule for 11 a.m. Saturday from Sacred Heart Church with the Rev. Thomas McNamara officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call at Lux Funeral Home on Thursday and Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday from 10 to 10:30 a.m. There will be a prayer service 7:30 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.

Mr. Voisin was born May 12, 1925, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Ernest and Emma Voisin. He married Ruth Stewart on January 8, 1949 at Sacred Heart Church.

Jack graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1943. He volunteered for service in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II, attaining the rank of second lieutenant.

He worked for 43 years as an engineer at Total Pipeline Corporation in Alma, Michigan.

He is survived by his three sons, Scott and his wife Peggy of Ramsey, MN, Steve and his wife Sue of Farmington Hills, MI, and Mike of Huntsville, AL; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Glenn and his wife Norma Jean of Saginaw, and Paul and his wife Charlotte of St. Johns; two sisters, Marylou and her husband Gib Elias of Okemos, and Karen and her husband Mike Golden of Holt; several nieces and nephews; and a large number of friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth; his parents, Ernest and Emma Voisin; and a sister, Nora May Downing of Traverse City.

January Bride

A wedding of interest to residents of Mt. Pleasant was solemnized last month when Ruth Phyllis Stewart daughter of John G. Stewart of Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania became the bride of John E. Voisin son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest J. Voisin of South Lansing street.

The ceremony was solemnized at eleven o'clock Saturday morning, Jan. 8 in the Sacred Heart church with the Rev. Leo J. Farquharson officiating.

For her marriage, the bride wore a gown of white satin, fashioned with basque waist, long fitted sleeves, and full skirt with pouffs at the side. The skirt extended into a long train and the bodice was accented by a small pointed collar and buttons extending the length of the waist. Her fingertip veil of illusion, edged with lace fell from a tiara of orange blossoms and she carried a bouquet of pink roses.

Attendants were the bride's sisters, Mrs. Edward Lotus of Elyria, Ohio and Mrs. William McWhinney of Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania. Flower girls were Sue Downing and Karen Voisin. Mrs. Lotus was in pink with Mrs McWhinney in blue. The flower girls wore white satin gowns and all carried pink and white mums. Glenn Voisin, brother of the bridegroom was best man and Aaron Downing was groomsman.

A reception was held at the home of the bridegroom's parents following the ceremony with a wedding breakfast for the immediate families and bridal party. The couple went to Chicago for a wedding trip and are making their home at 412-1/2 East Broadway.

The bride is a graduate of Franklin School in Philadelphia and Florida State University. She is a technician. Mr. Voisin is a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy and attended Central Michigan College. He is employed by the Leonard Pipe Line company.

Death was caused within seconds by acute myocardial infarction with arrhythmia. A cause leading to the immediate cause of death was ASHD with angina, status post bypass grafting. ASHD is Atherosclerotic Heart Disease, or Coronary Artery Disease. Another significant condition contributing to death but not resulting in the underlying cause was breast carcinoma in remission.
