Anton Buechel and [presumably] his wife and two children arrived September 14, 1841 and settled in section 3 on 40 acres. Arriving on the same day were the families of Anton Servatius, John Peter Servatius, Lehrer Joseph Gronus and Mathias Simon. Arriving September 11 were the families of Anton Schaefer, Adam Vidua, Johann Pung, and Peter Gross. Arriving September 12 were the families of Anton Fuchs, Jacob Konig, Johann Peter Pohl, Hubertus Klein, and Mathias Romus. Arriving September 15 were the families of Peter Schafer and widow Katharina (Muller) Doll.

    The date of death and age from the cemetery records seem to correspond with the date of birth from "Of Pilgrimage, Prayer and Promise." Therefore the Peter Buechel listed in the cemetery records appears to be the son of Anton and Anna. The tombstone was alone so Peter probably was not married.
