HARRISON H GALBREATH

<B>James Galbreath</B>, great grandfather of Harrison H. Galbreath of Ligonier township was a native of Ireland and a farmer. He emigrated to the United States and settled at Eston [Exton? or Easton?], Pennsylvania bringing with him his son <B>James</B> then a child. This second <B>James Galbreath</B> came at the age of nineteen to Westmoreland county and settled in the Ligonier valley where he leased land and followed the calling of a farmer during the remainder of his life. He was a Democrat. He married <B>Lizzie Ramsey</B> and their children were Andrew, Robert, see forward; John, James, Samuel, Jane, became the wife of <B>Barney Cole</B>, <B>Ann</B>, married <B>Joshua Cole</B>, <B>Lizzie</B>, married <B>James Stewart</B> of Indiana county and Mary, married Ephraim Robinson.

Robert Galbreath son of James and Lizzie Ramsey Galbreath was born in 1812 in Ligonier township and in early life learned the trade of a carpenter and cabinetmaker which he followed for a number of years. Some years previous to his death he retired from active labor. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. Belonged to the Democratic party. He married Martha Lamon of New Jersey and they were the parents of the following children: Rebecca wife of Levi Hanlon; Alice married Aaron Walker; Melinda became the wife of John Hammers; Emma, married Freeman Albright; Harrison H., see forward; and John a blacksmith at Ligonier. There were two brothers who died in childhood. <B>The death of Mr. Galbreath, the father, occurred August 12, 1888.

</B>Harrison H. Galbreath, son of Robert and Martha Lamon Galbreath was born February 16, 1856, in Ligonier village, and when but seventeen years of age entered the service of the Pennsylvania Railroad Company as a brakeman. About a year after he was promoted to the position of conductor which he held for twenty years. About 1885 he purchased the farm where he now lives situated on the Ligonier borough line and known as the Old Boucher homestead. On this farm the parents of Mr. Galbreath for some years made their home. In 1892 Mr. Galbreath left the railroad and has since given his attention to farming. For the last five years his niece, Hulda Hanlon, has presided over his household. Mr Galbreath is identified with the Democratic party.
