Jeanene A. Thelen, Westphalia

Jeanene A. Thelen, died on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at the age of 88. She was born September 5, 1929 to Edwin and Revella (Bohr) Becker. Jeanene is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sheryl Topliff; sister, Virginia Thoma; and brothers-in-law, Don Thelen, Dan Thelen, and Marion Pline. She is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Gerald; daughter, Kathy (Mike) Wood; sons, Randy (Cheryl), Terry, Tim (Conni) Thelen; her precious eleven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Don Topliff; sister, Georgene Thelen; brothers, Jim (Alice) Becker and Gerard (Lori) Becker; brother-in-law, Bill Thoma; sisters-in-law, Barb Thelen and Aggie Pline; and many nieces and nephews.

She was a member and former officer of the Christian Mothers Society, member of the COF, and St. Mary's Catholic Church. Her passion was art and taking pictures, especially of sunsets. Jeanene loved playing board games, cards, gardening, and spending time at the cottage with family.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Eric Weber at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 16, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Westphalia. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at the St. Mary's Funeral Chapel, 210 N. Westphalia St., Westphalia. The rosary will be prayed at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel on Sunday. For those wishing, contributions may be made to PWSTC Art Department or Sparrow Hospice in memory of Jeanene.
