Clarence Joseph Blasen, age 93, of Ovid, Michigan died Monday, July 6, 2009 at Hospice House of Mid-Michigan, Lansing, Michigan.

Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Johns Chapel St. Johns, MI on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at 11:00 AM. Pastor Ed Snook will officiate, with burial at Mt. Rest Cemetery, St. Johns, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 from 2-8 p.m. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Military Services will be provided by the St. Johns Honor Guard.

Clarence was born in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan on March 24, 1916, the son of Herman and Henrietta (Voisen) Blasen. He served his country in WW II with the U.S. Army. On March 6, 1948 he married Therese Ann Sommer, in Lansing, Michigan. He was true farmer who enjoyed farming everyday. He also worked at Fisher Body in Lansing retiring, November 1, 1977, after 31 years of service. Clarence enjoyed John Deere Tractors and old cars. He resided on the farm in St. Johns until moving to Ovid in 1987.

Survivors include his wife Therese Ann Blasen of Ovid, Michigan, 3 daughters; Susan and Floyd Stevenson of Stanton, MI, Barbara Blasen of Lansing, MI, Rose Blasen of Haslett, Michigan, 4 sons; Stanley Blasen of Holt, MI, Russell Blasen of Ovid, MI, Floyd Blasen of Lansing, MI, Roger Blasen of Ovid, MI, 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, 2 brothers; Raymond Blasen of East Lansing, MI, Howard and Anna Blasen of St. Johns, MI, and 1 sister, Irene & Harold Smith, of Holt, Michigan. He was predeceased by his parents, 1 son Robert Joseph, and 2 brothers; Joseph & Edward "Bob" Blasen.
