Ship manifest showing Maria (Bittner) Pohl [00547]. The steamship SS Scandia arrived at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on August 29, 1893. The ship was originally bound for Baltimore, Maryland. Maria "Mary" Pohl, age 27, a housewife, is listed with her three children, Leopold [00740], Maria [00548] and Adelheid "Ida" [00198]. Their nationality is Austrian and they lived in Fünfkirchen, Hungary. They were headed to Woodville, Pennsylvania. Mary's husband Albert, who paid for her passage, was a resident of Woodville. The travelers reported having no money, but it appears the manifest was later updated to show they had $3.00.
