Birth record for Albert Pohl, or Albert Nitsche [I01979], showing parents Johann Nitsche [I01981] and Johanna (Pohl) Nitsche [I01973]. The father's name was originally blank and baby Albert's surname was the same as his mother's surname, Pohl. This record was subsequently changed.

This was likely an illegitimate birth in the eyes of the Catholic Church. Johanna's husband was probably not Catholic and the Church did not recognize their marriage. Johanna eventually married Johann Nitsche [I01981] on 30 August 1869, which officially legitimized Albert's birth.
